Please follow here the latest design development for the French Cultural Centre in Lomé, Togo.

Etude de brise-soleils de la façade ouest
Institut Français du Togo, Lomé

Welcome to our blog post. We are posting here the latest news about our major commission in Togo, the French Cultural Centre in Lomé.

We have developed lately the sun-shading strategy for the western facade of the education wing. The proposed solution is double.

Firstly, a cantilevered roof reflects the intense zenith sun rays all throughout the day. Secondly, protruding concrete sun-breakers create shadows over the full-height glazed windows. Meanwhile they allow transparency and luminosity inside the classrooms.

The sun-breakers are part of the expressed mega-structure giving a sense of monumentality to a building that is only two-storey tall.
