Welcome to our blog post. We are posting here the latest news about our major commission in Togo, the French Cultural Centre in Lomé.
We have developed lately the sun-shading strategy for the western facade of the education wing. The proposed solution is double.
Firstly, a cantilevered roof reflects the intense zenith sun rays all throughout the day. Secondly, protruding concrete sun-breakers create shadows over the full-height glazed windows. Meanwhile they allow transparency and luminosity inside the classrooms.
The sun-breakers are part of the expressed mega-structure giving a sense of monumentality to a building that is only two-storey tall.
