block_OS is a temporary exhibition centre made of volumes and voids that draws inspiration from the primordial tectonics of architecture, from the megalithic sculptures (Stonehenge) to the LEGO toys.
This play of blocks, generated by the mandatory construction method (FACIT company), instills a contextual dialogue with the courtyard stone wall and the landscape of the art centre.
Transparent interstices reinforce this sculptural assemblage by creating a play of light and shadows inside and outside. They provide dispersed views linking the pavilion to its surrounding.
block_OS takes its name “block_operating system” from its construction method. It is constituted by plywood cassettes and joists covered with white recycled composite panels (type TRESPA) and by light-weight transparent Plexiglas sheet.
